The tourist rally is an excellent option to discover Reunion island and its local people.

7:30: Pick up the keys of your vehicule (minimum 4 people per vehicle). A simple test is given to participants to let the vehicles leave one after another. During the test, you’ll receive the location of the next appointment. At “la Petite France”, on the road to Piton Maido, participants will meet a typical character of the island: M.Bègue. With his family, he cultivates and distills geranium. After explaining how works a still, you’ll be tested on different scents. A new clue is given in case of success to find the location of the next appointment. The final surprise is the breathtaking view from the belvedere of Piton Maido. Surely the most beautiful view of the mysterious Mafate.
Next step: If you decode the message, you’ll know exactly where to go for lunch and what to bring there (we ask participants to bring the ingredients needed for a tomato rougail).

Back to the hotel for the return of vehicles

7:00: Depart from your hotel after a quick explanation of the day. Each team will receive a map of the island and a road-book with the different venues. With two or three cars, the guides will supervise the participants that are driving other vehicles. Road towards the volcano. During the morning, you’ll discover the west coast through small roads and typical colorful villages. Then the participants will drive through the “Nationale 3” that crosses the island taking them to the different sites and views of the Volcano : Nez de bœuf, cratère Commerson, Plaine des Sables, Pas de Bellecombe. Several puzzles and questions will be asked in the road book. In order to get the answers, the participants must interact with the population. By late morning, back to the Plaine des Cafres for a typical lunch. The awards ceremony will be at the end of the meal. Then, you’ll be free to come back and continue your exploration of the island or go back to the hotel.

7h00: Pick up the 4X4 (minimum 4 people per vehicle). The information about the day, the course will be given by the supervisors. Each team will have a tourist map of the island and the booklet. All the details about the different steps and sites will be provided in that booklet. The supervisors will check on every team throughout the course, so they can help any car in trouble.
Several puzzles and questions will be asked in the road book. In order to get the answers, the participants must interact with the population. You’ll go through some tests like taste and smell, driving a 4×4 for example.
The day will continue mainly in the south of the island. You will discover the splendor of our island and all its cultural richness. You will be transported in this unique site in the world: the rise of Dimitile with its thousand different essences, wood Maho, ferns and views on Cilaos. A typical Creole lunch will be served in a cottage.
After lunch, the coaching staff will check the road-books and make a final ranking. The award ceremony will take place at the end of lunch.
This day will be full of excitement: it is the perfect combination of incredible points of view (on the south and Cilaos) and unusual sensations of driving an off-road car.

Amazing challenges for new explorers
The participants are involved into an adventure through different steps and the challenges that lead to the discovery of the oldest traditions of the island. But in order to be champions, they have to be daring, creative and demonstrate cohesion at every step. Thus they will be able to reveal their will of exploration and their team spirit.

Chouchou Creole – A more relaxed option
Steps : At “Pisse en l’air”, the Maloya will welcome them and teach how to braid chouchou. At “Mare à Poule d’Eau », they’ll be taught the traditional fishing. At the “Case Tonton”, they’ll enjoy a special péi cake tasting and at Hell-Bourg, they will be able to walk and discover the village.
Authentic Cilaos – A relaxed option
Steps: Wine tasting at the cottage “Le Pavillon” (Wine from Cilaos). In the village, Discovery of the embroidery, the hot springs spa and the “Roche Merveilleuse” in a forest guided tour.
Greedy Volcano – A relaxed option
Steps: In Piton Dugain, tasting of cheeses from “La Plaine”. In Notre Dame de la Paix, tour of the botanical trail, in “Nez de Bœuf » tasting of creole meats, at Cratère Comerson, preparation of perfumes and at the Volcano cottage, tasting of the “Bourbon pointu” coffee.
Eastern vanilla – Stimulus option
Steps : At Niagara Waterfall, a tasty trek, in the vanilla plantation of Roulof, a guided tour, at Eden, an exploration of the lush forest, in the “Marine de Bourbier », a Maloya challenge, at the “Bananeraie du Joyau des Laves ”, a tasting of bananas and other tropical fruits
Braided Vacoa braided – Team building option
Steps: At the beach of” Grand Anse”, a Maloya challenge, in South Vacoa, a vacoa braiding challenge, at the “Domaine de Vacoa”, a tasting of “pinpin”, at the “Jardin des Parfums et des Epices », a guided tour, in “Cap Méchant”, challenge of essential oils
